To all of you out there doing Dry January, first of all, respect (I admittedly didn’t even try). Second of all, you’re gonna wanna head to State of Beer for its Alternative Beverage Party on Saturday, Jan. 21! That’s right—this nonalcoholic party will feature spirit-free drinks like coffee, soda, and tea from local businesses. Cheers!
Or Don’t…
Um, Dry January, who? Cuya, Cortez’s just-opened sister bar and music garden (located in the space directly above Cortez) is hosting its grand opening celebration this Saturday, Jan. 21—complete with drinks, DJs, dancing, and more. And if that’s not reason enough to break your Dry January resolution—or just enjoy a night out for those who aren’t participating—I don’t know what is. Worth it!
Get Ready to Fill Those Bellies! 🍽
Triangle Restaurant Week kicks off next week (runs Jan. 23–29)! I don’t know about you, but I’m super excited to try out all the participating restaurants’ delish special dishes. As a reminder, during TRW eateries throughout Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill, Cary, and more offer prix fixe menus for lunch and dinner. Hope you’re hungry because there’s a lot of eatin’ to do!
Let’s Starting Thinking About Love ❤️
Valentine’s Day will be here before you know it, and if you really want to impress your SO, you’ll start planning your special day of love now (take notes, ladies and gents!). Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown’s Valentine’s Day Package—available any day Feb. 10–15—is guaranteed to make your partner swoon.
Friday Five: Cheers to 2023! 🥳
2022 is coming to an end… Hard to believe the year is almost over, right?! We’ve got a host of fun things to do to close out 2022 and enter 2023, including some fabulous NYE parties around town. 3, 2, 1, Happy New Year!
But First… New Year, New Food + Drink Menus to Try
ICYMI, we’re treating one lucky winner to a $50 gift card to 10th & Terrace to try their recently released cocktails and small plates (fiesta shrimp and chorizo skewers, filet mignon skewers, and a blood orange spritz are just a few of the new tasty options!)—and this is your last chance to enter the contest!
Get a Direct View of Downtown Raleigh’s Fireworks Show 🎆
The only location with an eye-level view of DTR’s New Year’s Eve fireworks spectacular, 10th & Terrace is the spot to be on NYE! They’ll be hosting an exclusive private party on New Year’s Eve with light hors d’oeuvres, a full cash bar, a Champagne toast at midnight, and more.
Raise a Glass to 2023 at Killjoy 🥂
Killjoy is offering two different reservation options (private lounges or tables) for you and your crew to ring in the new year with drink tickets and sparkling wine—and there are still a few spots left! As capacity allows, Killjoy will also welcome guests at the door with no cover charge.
