The First Friday Markets and Movie Night is in Moore Square on Friday, The Market at NCMA is back for their monthly pop-up on Saturday, you can stroll through the African-American Cultural Festival Vendor Market both Saturday and Sunday, The Raleigh Market is open Saturday and Sunday, and if you prefer your shopping in the comfort of air conditioning, you can even hit the Treasures of the Earth Gem, Mineral & Jewelry Show in the Kerr Scott Building, also at the fairgrounds, Friday through Sunday. Shew!

Happy Tailgating Season!
I’m absolutely one of those people who hates to see summer go but I will see you at the tailgate on Saturday morning! 🐺 If you’re not beach bound, mountain bound, or game bound this weekend, head over to Amedeo’s or Lonerider at Five Points to watch the NC State Wolfpack take on the East Carolina Pirates at noon on Saturday, Sep. 3.
Get Your True Crime Fix in a Post-OMITB World
While we (impatiently) wait for the season three release of Only Murders in the Building, may we suggest checking out Raleigh Walking Tours? The local tour group offers a “True Crime & Curious Tales” format that’s perfect for the budding sleuth in all of us, with the next happening coming up this weekend on Sunday, Sep. 4, at 10:45 a.m. Registration is free, tip what you can to take care of your guide!
Who’s Got the Best Mimosa Specials in Raleigh?
It appears that y’all really like your weekend mimosa specials! Every month, this blog post is our No. 1 source of traffic, so we updated the list. Cheers to the freaking weekend, friends!
Let’s Roll (Into the Weekend)
Before we get into things, let’s be specific here for a second: I’m being figurative when I write, “let’s roll”. I am in no way suggesting that any of us get as bruised, bumped, and battered as this girl did…
Seriously, shoutout to recent NC State graduate Abby Lampe who won the Cooper’s Hill Cheese Roll in Gloucester, England, last weekend. My Pack seems to keep getting robbed of championships, but leave it to a Pi Phi to aim high and bring home the gold cheddar. 🧀 You go, Abby! (If that wasn’t a perfect “roll-up” to our last month of cheese appreciation, how about crowning Raleigh Weekend reader Diana W. our May gift card winner? Congrats, Diana!)
Back to the business at hand, I’m pretty pleased if I do say so myself with this week’s Friday Five (plus a few extra) highlights for your weekend efforts. We’ve got beer, a new bodega, fireflies, film, live theatre, and even some feel-good experiences for your solo or group pursuits. I’ll get out of the way now and leave you to it. Thanks for being here, everyone!
