On Sunday, April 5, 2026, this hidden gem on Dixie Trail opens its gates for the annual Easter Open Garden, a rare chance to explore a privately owned sanctuary protected by a conservation easement.

Hosted by owners Amy and Tommy alongside the NC Native Plant Society, the afternoon is all about the “quiet” stars of North Carolina—native woodland wildflowers in their peak spring glory. It’s a low-key, high-reward way to spend an afternoon wandering narrow, winding paths that feel miles away from the city traffic. Just leave the pups at home and wear your sturdy sneakers; those historic paths are as uneven as they are charming.
