Farm Chores, Fresh Air, and Unplugging on Deck for Saturday

Sometimes the best way to burn off that endless weekend kid energy is to put them to work in the dirt.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, 2026, send the little ones out to Planet Peace Farm for a morning of getting their hands dirty. Run by an all-volunteer crew near Knightdale and I-540, this youth-focused community organization hosts a weekly farm club that helps kids ages five and up connect with nature.

Educator-Farmer Jules leads the young crew through a rotation of feeding the animals, tending to the garden, tackling age-appropriate farm chores, and squeezing in some outdoor art and play. It is a fantastic way for animal-loving kids to build confidence and compassion while you enjoy a quiet two-hour break.
