If you haven’t ventured to Garner lately, this is your sign to take a quick breather under the pines.
The North Carolina Museum of History is hitting the road while their main building gets a facelift, and they’re popping up for White Deer Park’s Discovery Day on Thursday, Apr. 2. This isn’t your average “sit and listen” field trip; it’s an interactive deep dive into why we’re actually called “Tar Heels” (spoiler: it involves a lot of sticky sap) and the importance of our majestic longleaf pines.
Expect a “Trees to Meet You” theme where you can spin the Wheel of History for prizes and get the latest tea on the museum’s massive downtown renovation. It’s the perfect mid-week excuse to get the kids outside, enjoy the trails, and claim the title of the smartest person at your next trivia night.
