Few things bring Raleigh together like a packed downtown block party powered by incredible music and a great cause, so let’s keep things rolling with back-to-back, music-fueled fundraisers on SaturYAY!

Band Together is celebrating a quarter-century of community impact on Saturday, Oct. 10, with its 25th Anniversary Mighty Giveback Concert at the Lincoln Theatre Outdoor Stage. Southern soul heavyweights JJ Grey & Mofro head up the lineup alongside indie folk crowd-pleasers The 502s, bringing serious energy to Downtown Raleigh for an unforgettable outdoor celebration.

Beyond the riffs and infectious hooks, every ticket sold supports three crucial 2026 impact partners. Proceeds directly aid The Raleigh Music Collective’s youth music education, Oak City Cares in guiding neighbors through housing crises, and PORCH Communities in fighting local food insecurity.

This Saturday, Uncover Real-Life Chills, Forgotten Roads, and Haunted History

With spooky season upon us, our city’s real history is far scarier than any fictional ghost story.

Join local historian and author Heather Leah on Saturday, Oct. 3, for a spine-tingling journey through the eerie legends of Downtown Raleigh. This isn’t your average ghost walk; you will board a trolley and explore cemeteries with unmarked graves, haunted Victorian mansions, and the abandoned remains of lost neighborhoods. Because these tales are rooted in real-life history that has been passed down through generations, the experience packs a genuinely frightening punch.

The tour departs from Tap Yard Raleigh, but you won’t just be safely looking out the window. Be prepared to step off the trolley at some of the city’s most haunted hotspots to get a closer look. The tours run every weekend in October, making it the perfect way to welcome the Halloween spirit.

📅 Saturday, Oct. 3 | 7 p.m.

Forget the traditional sit-down fundraiser; this one lets you aggressively chunk a golf ball into a net while hanging out with friends.

The Jack Andrews Memorial Golf Tournament and Family Fun Night tees off on Wednesday, Oct. 7, combining friendly competition with a great evening out at West Raleigh’s Drive Shack. Whether you are bringing the family, hosting clients, or challenging your office team, the event features a three-hole tournament on world-class virtual courses with plenty of prizes on the line.

Not much of a golfer? You can still grab a meal-only package to enjoy the catered dinner, sip a beverage, and heckle your friends’ terrible swings. It is the perfect, low-pressure way to enjoy the perks of the driving range without the stress of keeping score. The fundraiser, hosted by North Raleigh Rotary, benefits youth programs, scholarships and other community service projects in honor of the late Jack Andrews.

Jack graduated from Broughton High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering from NC State in 1950. He continued his military service in the Air Force Reserve, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1987. Jack spent many years in engineering with N.C. Products, contributing to projects like the Beaufort drawbridge and the NC State tunnel. A founding member and past president of the North Raleigh Rotary Club, Jack was honored with the Lifetime Rotary Dedication Award in 2008. Rotary was central to his life, and he lived by the Four-Way Test principles of truth, fairness, goodwill, and benefit to all.A devoted member of the Raleigh Golf Association, Jack’s love for the game led him to start the annual North Raleigh Rotary Golf Tournament, which continues in his honor.
