It is the perfect opportunity to ditch the debate screens and mingle directly with the folks running for Raleigh City Council and Mayor in a relaxed, highly approachable setting.

On Saturday, Sept. 26, send the little ones out to Planet Peace Farm for a morning of getting their hands dirty. Run by an all-volunteer crew near Knightdale and I-540, this youth-focused community organization hosts a weekly farm club that helps kids ages five and up connect with nature.

Educator-Farmer Jules leads the young crew through a rotation of feeding the animals, tending to the garden, tackling age-appropriate farm chores, and squeezing in some outdoor art and play. It is a fantastic way for animal-loving kids to build confidence and compassion while you enjoy a quiet two-hour break.
